Silverton Hotel: Arts & Crafts Festival

My Second Event

It's been a couple weeks since my event on March 5th. I wanted to keep a record of my journey so I thought I would still make this entry even if it is late.

This event was even slower than the last event. It wasn't until the end of the day that I had more fun with it. The majority of my time was spent being bored because the booth people next to me weren't as friendly as my first event.

The people across from my booth we're nice though =]

I ended up joining a group of women to help create jobs in Zimbabwe!
They have amazing hand made crafts but I won't get too into that because this is my book blog lol!

It was still a good experience and I sold a few books. Not nearly as many as I needed to sell but I am still learning.

I started my business with Usborne Books & More in December last year.
In just 3 short months, I have shared books with loved ones and hearing their stories about how much their kid loves the books, is amazing.

The nice thing about this company is there is no set amount you have to make.
You can sell nothing for months, and it's ok!



There are two kits:
Full Size & Mini Kit

I purchased the full size kit because it came with more supplies and more BOOKS!
Worst Case Scenario...you just got awesome books at a great price!
Best Case Scenario... your life has changed with your new business!

Your first 3 months is your incentive period. 
During this time, anyone who hosts a party with you gets DOUBLE free books!
If you sell $1000 worth of books in your first month, you get half the cost of your kit back!
You also get a surprise package with more supplies and books, for FREE!
If you sell $2000 worth of books in your first month, you get a full refund of your kit back!
You'll also get another surprise package!!


Needless to say, I joined Usborne Books & More because I can't imagine my life without books.
I want my kids to have books in their lives and I want to create a positive influence in their life with books being a part of that.
I may not read as many novels as I did when I was a teenager, but I sure do wish I made the time.

I do make the time to read to my daughter for at least 20 mins or more a day.
We learn all kinds of things and she amazes me with the things she learns so quickly.
These books help me teach her and that makes me proud.

Here are the different rewards available when you host a party...

1. Free Books
Yes! You can earn FREE books just by hosting a party with some friends, family and co-workers!
Until Feb 28th, get $50 more in free books!


The average party guests spends $50. 
I know I spent around $100 when I first found Usborne Books & More!
So these rewards may seem far fetched, but the average party purchases $400 in books!
In a normal month, you'd only get $70 in free books.
But for this month only, you'll get $120 in free books!!


2. Half Price Books


What's it mean when it says you get $100 in half priced books??
Well, it means you get $100 worth of books at half the cost ($50).
That's a 50% discount!!
Why pay full price, when you can have a party and get a handful of books discounted, if not free!

3. Consultant Prizes
This one's a bit different and varies from consultant to consultant. 
My prizes are always changing, but currently I offer a "Shine-a-Light" book 
for free if you book a party with me.
I also offer a free book when orders hit a certain amount, for example if you purchase $50 in books you get a book for free. Usually I have 6 books to choose from.

Sam's Town: Artisan & Crafts Festival Feb 12th

My First Event

So, last Sunday I went to an event at Sam's Town Hotel. It was my very first event and the very first time I'd be leaving the house with my husband to watch over our 1 month old son and 2 and a half year old daughter.

Needless to say, it'd be an experience for both of us.

I arrived around 830am and unpacked all my stuff. Luckily I bought a rolling cart to move all the books from point A to point B. Even with this help it was so hard to bring everything to the event center.

Once I got there I got to work and set up my booth. I had to make some improvising because I forgot some stuff at home. It turned out great though. I didn't make a lot of sales, but I did make back what I paid for the booth and I made some new friends.

It was a very welcoming experience. All the vendors were so nice. They even helped me by watching my booth when I needed to go to the bathroom or eat. =]

It's too bad we're moving because I'd love to do more events with these people.

Later, I will attach my booth neighbors info because they have some awesome stuff for sale!

"Count to 100"

Hello! This is my "Read & Review" of Count to 100!

This is an unexpected favorite of mine. I purchased this book even though it is too advanced for my daughter. I figured she could use it eventually and to my surprise she could actually start benefiting from it right now! The pictures are amazing! I love the colors and the style. It's so unique and that's what I love about books from Usborne Books & more. They are always unique and beautiful. I am using the book as an I Spy book and asking her to find things or colors as we go through it. It's awesome and fun for her!
